It's easy. The first step is to enter the data, and get your chart from the generator here. In this program, there's some information below the chart about your Sun, Moon, Mercury and so on. That's one way to find out about your chart, and there are a lot of great sites out there that give you expert analysis just by entering your birth data. The symbols on the chart, and their placement, are the visual version of having it all written out. This is the English actress Kate Winslet's chart. The Sun glyph tells us that she's a Libra, and that her Sun is at the Ascendant, both are at 11 degrees. We get that from the 11 next to the Sun, and at the middle left of the wheel, which is the ASC. Here are the glyphs for the signs and planets. 02 of 04 Looking for the Moon At first glance, you'll notice that many of the planets in Kate Winslet's chart are around the Ascendant (middle left of wheel). In this closer look, the many planets in Libra are highlighted. See the crescent Moon symbol there? That means her Moon is in the sign of Libra. Look out, she's a triple Libra! This means her 'Big Three' (Sun, Moon and Rising) are in Libra, the air sign known for beauty, innate sense of justice, and a bright mind. Her Moon is at 13 degrees Libra and forms a stellium with Mercury, the Sun, and Pluto. A stellium is a cluster of planets in close degree on the chart. A stellium means those energies are co-mingled, adding to their power. And in this example, the Libra life path is supported by the Moon's emotional base and Mercury's perceptive filter. And that adds power to the Sun's life purpose for Kate Winslet. 03 of 04 Below the Horizon In Kate Winslet's chart, we've noted the stellium in Libra (Sun, Moon and Mercury) in the First House. The planet Uranus is also in the first house, but in the sign of Scorpio. This gives electricity and an unpredictable nature to her persona. Moving counter-clockwise, the next symbol is for the North Node, which is a planetary point, rather than a cosmic body. It's an indicator of the spiritual path over a lifetime, and here, Kate's is in Scorpio in the 2nd House. The next planet to identify is Neptune, and in this chart, it's in the sign of Sagittarius. It's position close to the 2nd house, but clearly in the 3rd, means that Neptunian themes will cover both life spheres (houses). At the bottom of the chart, on the 4th house cusp, is the I.C., the point of origin for the chart, and a key to the private Self. In Kate's chart (at the middle center), the I.C. is in Capricorn at 14 degrees. And from there, as the signs move toward the Descendent, the houses are empty. What can be noted, though, are the signs on each house cusp. 04 of 04 Above the Horizon Let's look at the planets in Kate Winslet's chart that fall above the horizon. These are interpreted as what's seen in the world, and are more 'other' oriented. Do you see Jupiter? It's at the middle right, in the 7th house, in the sign of Aries. It's hard not to jump ahead and see a theme here. Kate's got a stellium in the 1st House in Libra, that seeks balance, especially in her presentation. And yet, here's Jupiter calling her to take risks in relationships that provoke growth, as a catalyst that keeps her at the edge of new experiences. This Libra-Aries polarity is a key theme in her chart. Her luck bringer Aries adds a feisty fiery spirit to her Libra essence. At the top of the chart is Cancer, which is Kate's Midheaven. To the left in the 10th house is Saturn, and the glyph shows the sign of Leo. Moving counter-clockwise, we come to Venus at 0 degrees in Virgo, and the love planet falls in the 11th house. And then there's Pluto in Libra, which is a generational planet, and which she shares with all in her age group. The house position here is 12th, though it's close enough to the 1st for that to be important. It's part of her Libra cluster. To the right of the Cancer midheaven is Mars in the sign of Gemini, in the 9th house. And moving clockwise to the right, there's the South Node in Taurus, in the 8th house.
