True Crime: New York City is an open-world action-adventure video game that first came out in 2005. It's the second entry in the True Crime franchise and tells the story of a former gang member turned police officer. The PS2 version has cheat codes that give players extra ammo, free money, and other bonuses. There's also an ultra-easy mode to help you navigate the crime-ridden streets of NYC and unlock everything in the game. We'll show you how to use them.

These cheats are exclusively for True Crime: New York City on PlayStation 2.

Hold L1 + R1 on the PS2 controller while on the CompStat/Map screen to enter any of the following cheats:

How to Unlock the Debug Menu

There's a secret debug menu that lets you edit various features in the game. To access it:

  1. Hold L1 + R1 while on the CompStat/Map screen.

  2. Release L1 + R1 and press Right on the D-Pad, then hold L1 + R1 again.

    This part must be done very quickly. It may take a few tries.

  3. Release L1 + R1 and press Left on the D-Pad to open the debug menu.
