Toyo says that the Versado Noir is “designed to stand out in the sea of 'round and black' tires”, which is kind of amusing given that “noir” is French for “black.” Ok, so it's not funny in any meaningful way, but I find it marginally amusing. Replacing the current Versado LX and Versado LX II, the Versado Noir “offers over 30% more tread life than a leading competitor plus improved fuel efficiency and a quiet, comfortable ride throughout the life of the tire.” This is achieved through the magic of silica-enhanced tread compounds, which have been shown to increase tread life, enhance wet grip and improve rolling resistance all at the same time, something thought to be impossible before silica became widely used as a rubber compound additive. The technologies packed into the new Versado Noir include: New Silica Compound Increases tread life.Enhances wet performance.Improves fuel efficiency. Silent Wall™ Technology “Toyo’s exclusive Silent Wall™ technology in the tread grooves reduces pipe resonance, the audible whirring sound caused by air rushing through the tread channels while a tire travels along the road.” Multi-Wave Sipes 3D Interlocking Sipes prevents tread block flex, minimizing tread squirm and irregular wear.“Multi-wave sipes are another complex molding feature found with the Versado Noir design. These interlocking sipes decrease tread block movement, and keep more of the tire tread in contact with the road surface, for improved wet and dry performance as well as reduced irregular wear.”“Sipes also extend into the main grooves on the outside of the tread to improve performance in the snow. The inner portion of the tread has a higher sipe density to further improve traction in both the rain and snow.” Rigid Outside Tread Stabilizes tread blocks for quieter ride and improved wear.“The distinctive asymmetric tread pattern of the Versado Noir has rigid outside tread blocks which act as a sound wall for a quieter ride, and stabilize the tread for improved wear while being tuned for responsiveness.” “Our new Versado Noir offers uncompromised luxury, longevity and all-season performance for many of today’s popular cars,” said Roy Bromfield, chief operating officer of Toyo Tire U.S.A. 47 sizes range from 15- to 18-inches in wheel diameter, fitting most popular cars. The Versado Noir also offers a treadwear warranty up to 75,000 miles, depending on the speed rating. H-rated: 75,000 miles; 37,500 miles for rear tire staggered fitment applicationsV-rated: 65,000 miles; 32,500 miles for rear tire staggered fitment applicationsW-rated: 50,000 miles; 25,000 miles for rear tire staggered fitment applications The Versado is also eligible for Toyo's No Regrets Trial Offer, in which buyers have 45 days or 500 miles to either love or return the tires. If not completely satisfied, buyers can return the tires for replacement tires or a refund of the purchase price, including charges for mounting and balancing.
