"Over the River and Through the Wood" - Dog On Fleas

Considered the unofficial anthem of Thanksgiving, this poem was written by Lydia Maria Child and originally published in Flowers for Children, Vol. 2 in 1844. This is a quiet, pretty version by Dog On Fleas, flavored by a pedal-steel guitar and Debbie Lan's voice. You can find the tune on their 2003 album Cranberry Sauce Flotilla.

"Thanksgiving Theme" - Vince Guaraldi Trio

Even though this is an instrumental tune, it'll get everyone in the Thanksgiving mood. Guaraldi composed this song for A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, which originally aired in 1973. An official soundtrack was never released for this Peanuts special, but you can find "Thanksgiving Theme" on Fantasy Records' 1998 CD Charlie Brown's Holiday Hits.

"Thanksgiving Song" - The Uncle Brothers

This cheerful, countryish shuffle is all about food, family and fun. The Uncle Brothers included their ode to Thanksgiving on the 2007 CD Mooseletoe.

Gil Slote was a teacher at P.S 24 in Brooklyn, where he organized a children's singing group. The kids sang these songs on WNYC radio and the CBS television program On the Carousel, as well as recording them for Folkways Records in 1956.

"Thanksgiving" - Si Kahn

The title tune from Kahn's 2007 album reminds everyone of all the things we should be thankful for. Kahn gets vocal help on this gentle tune from Annemarieke Coenders and Linde Nijland from the group Ygdrassil.
