Top Picks in Fragrances for Men

When the weather begins warming up, its time to switch your favorite fragrance for a lighter summer version. I even wear summer fragrances in the winter simply because I like wearing lighter scents. Here are some top picks in men's summer fragrances.

Issey Miyake's L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Summer is a fresher interpretation of the original.  A friend told me that he thought it was a nice scent, very strong yet light and citrus, ideal for hot weather.

Key scents: Petitgrain, Green Leaves, Cinnamon, Coriander, Nutmeg, Rosemary and Saffron, Musk.

Eternity For Men Summer is an updated version of the classic Eternity For Men fragrance. Like many of the Calvin Klein scents, it is a young fragrance — clean, crisp, fresh and well suited for the college crowd.

John Varvatos Artisan is one of the best spring summer scents I have tried. Released in March of 2009, it is an instant classic. One fan says it has "the freshness of orange citrus and the classic masculinity of wood... smell this once and you're hooked." It is said to be a merging of the classical citrus and herbal tonalities used in a traditional Eau de Cologne.

Notes are: Sicilian Clementines, Mandarin Oranges, North African Orange Tree Blossoms, Indian Murraya, Georgywood and musky Serenolide to name a few of the many unique ingredients. More »

This is a fresh, lighter version of Guerlain's original Vetiver and is perfect during the hot summer months. I would describe it as sexy, sporty, woody and masculine. I have worn Vetiver for years and I never tire of it. On the right man it is definitely a provocative aphrodisiac.

Its notes are: Lemon, Bergamot, Pepper Nutmeg, Vetiver and Tonka Bean. More »

This summer fragrance is the essence of the Italian Mediterranean in a bottle. One reviewer said it reminded them of Italy and I call it vacation in a bottle. Not such a bad thing.
