Justin Bieber continued in the tropical mode of "What Do You Mean?" with "Sorry," his second single from the album Purpose. Justin Bieber co-wrote it with dance DJ Skrillex and the songwriting team of Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels. Justin Bieber first worked with Skrillex on the Jack U single "Where Are U Now." "Sorry" roared on to the US pop chart at #2 behind only Adele's record-breaking "Hello." It later climbed to #1 and was replaced by Justin Bieber's next chart-topping single "Love Yourself." By late December 2015, it was one of three Justin Bieber songs inside the top 5 of the US pop chart. "Sorry" spent 21 consecutive weeks inside the pop top 10. It also topped the dance chart.

The accompanying music video for "Sorry" was released in October 2015. It features New Zealand dance crews and was directed by New Zealand choreographer Parris Goebel. She also dances in the clip. The colorful dance video ranks second behind Adele's "Hello" as the fastest clip to reach one billion views. With a total of approximately 2.5 billion views overall, it ranks third among the most watch clips on YouTube.

"Where Are U Now" originated as a piano ballad written by Justin Bieber titled "The Most." He then sent the track to the dance music duo of Skrillex and Diplo. They transformed the song into "Where Are U Now." The song brought Justin Bieber back to the pop top 10 in triumph after three years absent following a long string of negative publicity for personal behavior. "Where Are U Now" reached #8 on the pop chart, was listed by many critics as one of the 10 best songs of 2015, and earned a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording. It also set up the success later in the Year of Justin Bieber's album Purpose.

The "Where Are U Now" music video was conceived as a tribute to Jack U's fans. They contributed crayon and colored pastel drawings that appear over or around Justin Bieber's body in the clip. The music video earned four MTV Video Music Awards nominations and took home the prize for Best Visual Effects.

Justin Bieber co-wrote "Love Yourself" with Ed Sheeran and Benny Blanco. In contrast with the dance sounds of the first two singles from the album Purpose, it is a mostly acoustic pop song. Justin Bieber has stated the song came about after he shared personal stories with Ed Sheeran about being treated wrong in relationships. "Love Yourself" opened at #4 on the US pop chart and then climbed to #1 immediately succeeding "Sorry" at the top. It was his third #1 hit single from the album Purpose making Justin Bieber the first male artist since Justin Timberlake to accomplish that feat. "Love Yourself" crossed over radio formats and hit #1 at adult pop and adult contemporary radio. The song earned two Grammy Award nominations for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

The music video for "Love Yourself" was released as part of the package Purpose: The Movement, a set of music videos to accompany the Purpose album. As an opening to the clip, Justin Bieber says, "Love isn’t 'do this for me and I’m going to do this for you.' That’s not what love is. Love is just 'I’m gonna do this for you because I wanna do this for you.'" It features husband and wife dancers Keone and Mari Madrid.

Co-produced by Max Martin and Zedd, the record is effortlessly pleasing. It became the star's third single to reach the pop top 5 in the US. Zedd originally wrote the song for his own debut album, but he thought it didn't fit his personal style, so he pulled in Max Martin's team to complete the record. Justin Bieber's personal relationship with Selena Gomez is referenced in Nicki Minaj's rap.

The accompanying music video was co-directed by Justin Bieber with Jon Chu. Most of the footage was recorded by Justin Bieber with a GoPro camera. It includes the star enjoying a party at a waterpark and features dancers as well as Nicki Minaj delivering her rap from the song. Justin Bieber performed "Beauty and a Beat" live at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

It has a soaring chorus that gives a nod to classic doo-wop while the guest rap from Ludacris keeps "Baby" firmly anchored in the present. "Baby" was acclaimed by critics for moving the artist forward toward a more mature sound. It catches a similar vibe to OMI's breakout hit "Cheerleader," and the result was the first #1 pop hit of Justin Bieber's career. It became the 23rd song to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition to topping the pop chart, "What Do You Mean?" went to #1 on the dance chart. A wide range of celebrities helped promote the single by counting down to the release on social media. They included Mariah Carey, Ed Sheeran, Britney Spears, and Ariana Grande among others. "What Do You Mean?" was picked as one of the top 10 pop songs of 2015 by a wide variety of press outlets.

The "What Do You Mean?" music video was helmed by film director Brad Furman. It stars actor John Leguizamo and model Xenia Deli. It premiered at the end of 2015's MTV Video Music Awards. Justin Bieber performed "What Do You Mean?" live on both The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Today Show.

This is the final song in the Music Mondays series of 10 single releases, and it is the best. Rising hip hop star Chance the Rapper is featured. In what is mostly a downbeat series of reflective songs, "Confident" stands out as a memorably upbeat one. It also shows Justin Bieber successfully dabbling in hip hop. The song climbed to #41 on the Billboard Hot 100 but reached #13 on the R&B songs chart.

Music video veteran Colin Tilley, known for his work with Kendrick Lamar and Enrique Iglesias among others, directed the clip to accompany "Confident." It depicts Justin Bieber's efforts to seduce a love interest. In the end, he is successful in kissing her and receiving her phone number. Chance the Rapper introduced Justin Bieber as a special guest to perform "Confident" at the Coachella Music Festival in 2014.

"One Time" was Justin Bieber's debut single. It is a confident performance that many compared with Chris Brown's debut on "Run It!" The song straddled shared ground between the pop, hip hop, and R&B genres. "One Time" peaked at #17 on the US pop chart and sold over a million digital copies. The song was included on the debut Justin Bieber EP titled My World. It reached #5 on the album chart in the US.

The accompanying music video was directed by Vashtie Kola who was signed as a protege by music video veteran Anthony Mandler. The clip depicts Justin Bieber hosting a house party. He performed "One Time" live on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Good Morning America, and The Today Show.

"Boyfriend" is the first single released from the Justin Bieber album Believe. It was co-written and co-produced by Mike Posner. The song features rapping by Justin Bieber in addition to singing. It debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 becoming his highest charting single yet. Justin Bieber announced the upcoming release of "Boyfriend" on his 18th birthday March 1, 2012 in a guest appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The song was officially released March 26th. "Boyfriend" sold over 500,000 copies in its first week of release, the second highest total ever at that point in time. It became Justin Bieber's first single to reach #1 on the pop singles chart at home in Canada. 

The "Boyfriend" music video was originally slated to be directed by Colin Tilley. After the release of teaser clips that some observers believed were too erotic for the young artist's image, the original clip was scrapped in favor of a car-centered music video directed by Canadian Director X.

"Let Me Love You" was released as the third single from DJ Snake's debut studio album Encore. It includes vocals from Justin Bieber. The song was also co-written by Justin Bieber along with California Breed's Andrew Watt, Florida-based songwriter Ali Tamposi, and Korean-American pop songwriter Brian Lee. Rolling Stone referred to the accompanying music video as "Bonnie and Clyde with a twist." "Let Me Love You" debuted at #12 on the US pop chart and ultimately climbed to #4 becoming Justin Bieber's twelfth top 10 pop hit and DJ Snake's third. A top 20 charting dance remix of the song features dancehall artist Sean Paul.
