Every Tuesday, the funny folks over on the Screen Junkies YouTube channel upload another fabulously honest movie trailer parody. These well-made clips take footage from popular Hollywood movie trailers and add their own voice over, detailing hilarious truths about the movie plots that always hit the nail squarely on the head. One word of warning: These trailers all contain Spoilers, so if you haven't yet seen Frozen, Gravity, or the other blockbusters featured below, proceed with caution. 01 of 10 Honest Trailers - Deadpool (Feat. Deadpool) Via YouTube/Screen Junkies This trailer is unusual because unlike the rest, they actually got the main character of the movie to comment as the character. Ryan Reynolds, the actor who plays snarky comic hero Deadpool, steps in to add his own funny commentary because being meta is "kinda his thing." Awesome! 02 of 10 Honest Trailers - "Frozen" Via Screen Junkies on YouTube This honest trailer starts by introducing the stars of the latest Disney mega-movie, including barbed remarks like these: "Meet Elsa, a manic depressive princess with a confusing set of powers." "Fall in love with her adorable sister, Anna, who spends years of her young life trapped in a castle, even though she could leave at any time." At the end of each Honest Trailer, the cast is listed by funny or ironic names. Honest Frozen's credits include a terrific jab at pop culture by listing "The Wickedly talented Adele Dazeem," a nod towards John Travolta's awkward name-botching during the 2014 Academy Awards. 03 of 10 Honest Trailers - Zootopia Via YouTube/Screen Junkies According to Screen Junkies, Zootopia is the film that "finally got people to stop talking about Frozen." In between making fun of the silly character names and going off on a bit of a rant about parking tickets, this trailer delivers the hard truth about a very soft, fluffy movie. 04 of 10 Honest Trailers - "Gravity" Via Screen Junkies on YouTube The critically-acclaimed, award-winning movie Gravity was a masterpiece of filmmaking, but let's be honest, there was a lot of grist for the Screen Junkies mill here. Favorite lines from the honest trailer: "A movie so terrifying, it will convince an entire generation of kids not to be astronauts." "Get ready for ninety minutes of bumping into stuff." It's funny because it's true, right? I also loved the Buzz Lightyear remark at the end, because seriously, George Clooney was so Buzz Lightyear in this movie. 05 of 10 Honest Trailers - "The Hunger Games, Catching Fire" Via Screen Junkies on YouTube Here we have the second installment of the popular Young Adult movie series based on the books by Suzanne Collins. Bring on the snark! Favorite lines from the honest trailer: "Join Katniss as she must once again choose between Gale, a total hunk, and Peeta, a total burden to everyone around him." And Katniss is "A totally average, down-to-earth girl, just like you." 06 of 10 Honest Trailers - "Grown Ups" Via Screen Junkies on YouTube This trailer was made when Grown Ups 2 had yet to be released, and as the voice over says, we brought this on ourselves. After all, "If you see Grown Ups 2, you're only encouraging them." Oops. Favorite lines from the honest trailer: "Featuring pee jokes, poop jokes, fart jokes, more pee jokes, and more fart jokes." "Lowest common denominator comedy at its laziest." 07 of 10 Honest Trailers - "The Last Airbender" Via Screen Junkies on YouTube M. Night Shyamalan's epic flop gets the honest treatment here, and the Screen Junkies do not hold back! (Nor should they... that movie was terrible.) Favorite lines from the honest trailer: "Watch as the ethnically diverse heroes you know and love are brought to life as generic white kids, and ethnically diverse villains... stay ethnically diverse." 08 of 10 Honest Trailers - "Home Alone" Via Screen Junkies on YouTube The 1980s Christmas movie starring a very young Macaulay Culkin is a holiday classic, but when it comes right down to it, this movie is really violent, right? Favorite lines from the honest trailer: "One of the most violent kids' movies ever made, it's one part Ferris Bueller, and one part Saw." It's true! How have we never noticed that before? 09 of 10 Honest Trailers - Game of Thrones Vol. 1 Via YouTube/Screen Junkies Everybody's favorite "medieval encyclopedia, slash dungeon master's guide, slash porno" gets the Honest Movie Trailer (even though it's technically not a movie, but still.) that it deserves! Related: 14 Hilarious 'Game of Thrones' Spoofs. 10 of 10 Honest Trailers - The Oscars Via YouTube/Screen Junkies The trailer for the annual Academy Awards ceremony starts like this: "In a world where rich people dress up in fancy clothes to give each other trophies..." and the celebrity snark continues from there! Think of this trailer as an 8-for-1, as each of the 2016 nominees get summarized (and lampooned) in this clip.
