"Beautiful" was written by Linda Perry, and she originally wanted to record it for herself. Pink also was interested in the song, but ultimately Christina Aguilera won out and recorded "Beautiful" for her Stripped album. It tells of someone fighting for self esteem, and the accompanying music video received strong acclaim for its sensitive portrayal of lgbt individuals. "Beautiful" was nominated for a Grammy Award for Song of the Year and Christina Aguilera won the award for Best Female Pop Vocal.
