9. "Time For Miracles" (2009)

This theme from the soundtrack to the film 2012 was one of Adam Lambert's first recordings released after he finished second in American Idol. The big ballad successfully demonstrated the power and range of his voice. His future collaborator Brian May of the rock group Queen described this performance as "truly sensational." The song was produced by Rob Cavallo best known for his work with Green Day and the Goo Goo Dolls.

8. "Mad World" (2009)

Adam Lambert's performance of the song "Mad World" as part of the top 8 performances on American Idol was a key point in his journey to finishing second on the show. When he finished judge Simon Cowell gave him a standing ovation. The performance was modeled on an arrangement of the Tears for Fears song by Michael Andrews and Gary Jules for the soundtrack to the hit film Donnie Darko.

Adam Lambert worked with Bruno Mars' songwriting and production trio The Smeezingtons as well as producer Dr. Luke on this track from his second album Trespassing. It was released as the second single from the project. The song embraces living life to is fullest in a rock disco style. "Never Close Our Eyes" was a top 10 dance club and top 40 adult pop radio hit.

Co-written by Lady Gaga and produced by Jeff Bhasker, known for his work with Kanye West and fun, "Fever" is a track from Adam Lambert's first studio album . The song is a stomping club track illustrating lust for a male object of attraction. It finds Adam Lambert exploring disco and glam territory fitting his image as a performer perfectly.

Adam Lambert collaborated with Pharrell Williams on the writing of this title song from his second studio album. It was also produced by Pharrell Williams and has a signature stomping percussive track. "Trespassing" was released as the third single from the album and became a top 40 dance club hit.

Pink co-wrote the song "Whataya Want From Me" with Max Martin and Shellback for her album Funhouse. It was recorded, but it did not make the final release cut. Adam Lambert then recorded it for his debut album with Max Martin and Shellback producing. Released as the second single from the album, it was a major success climbing into the pop top 10 and earning Adam Lambert a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

Co-written and produced by Dr. Luke, "For Your Entertainment" was the official first single by Adam Lambert aimed at mainstream pop radio following his second place finish on American Idol. The bouncing strut of the song was an outstanding introduction of Adam Lambert as a contemporary pop artist and served as the title song for his debut album. A highly sexual live performance of the song at the American Music Awards generated controversy. "For Your Entertainment" was a top 5 smash on the dance club chart.

"Ghost Town" is Adam Lambert's first single from the third studio album The Original High. It was produced by Max Martin and Shellback who worked on his top 10 hit "Whataya Want From Me." The song starts off as a slow ballad and then slips into darker, funky club territory. It expertly blends catchy pop with Adam Lambert's devotion to dance music.
