Learn about our Editorial Process Updated on 03/25/18 The Hart family is the most important wrestling family in Canadian history and has had a huge impact on wrestling all over the world. This explains the relationship between the various siblings, spouses and grandchildren and their strong connections to the WWE and wrestling in general. Stu Hart Bret Hart and his father Stu Hart console his mother Helen Hart. Russell Turiak/Getty Images Stu Hart is the patriarch of the Hart wrestling family. Stu and his wife Helen had eight sons who joined the wrestling business and four daughters who married wrestlers. Stu was the owner of Stampede Wrestling, and the training room in the family's basement, known as the Dungeon, has produced an impressive number of star wrestlers. Future WWE world champions who spent time in the dungeon include Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, Billy Graham, and Chris Jericho. Stu passed away in 2003 at the age of 88. Bret Hart Gallo Images/Getty Images Bret Hart, a son of Stu Hart, is one of the most successful wrestlers in the history of the sport. He is a former world champion in both the WWE and WCW. His final match in the WWE against Shawn Michaels, known as the Montreal Screwjob, is one of the most controversial matches in wrestling history. In 2009, Bret published his autobiography, Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling," which describes his life in the sport. Owen Hart Owen Hart has his brother Bret Hart trapped in the Sharpshooter. Russell Turiak/Getty Images Owen, the youngest child of Stu and Helen, is the only other child who garnered great fame in the WWE. Sadly, Owen is more known for the terrible accident in 1999 that cost him his life rather than the achievements he accomplished. Jim Neidhart B Bennett/Getty Images Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart married Ellie Hart (sibling of Bret and Owen). Their daughter, Natalya Neidhart, made her WWE debut in 2008. He is most known for being a tag team champion with his brother-in-law Bret. Though the Hart Foundation was managed by someone with the last name Hart, Jimmie "The Mouth of the South" Hart is not related to the family. Davey Boy Smith Tim Roney/Getty Images The late Davey Boy Smith is related to the people on this list through his marriage to Diana Hart (Stu's daughter). He is also a cousin of the Dynamite Kid. Diana and Davey's son Harry Smith made his WWE debut in 2007. DH Smith Wikimedia Commons/Tabercil Harry Smith became the first third-generation Hart to appear on WWE TV. He is the son of Davey Boy Smith and Diane Hart and Stu Heart's grandson. Natalya Neidhart and Husband Tyson Kidd Jenny Anderson/Getty Images Natalya Neidhart made her WWE debut in 2008. The third-generation wrestler has become the first female Hart to compete in the WWE. She is the daughter of Jim Neidhart and Ellie Hart. In 2013, she married her long-time boyfriend, Tyson Kidd. He has been a close friend of the family since he was a child. Teddy Hart Mike Kalasnik/Getty Images Ted Annis is the son of Georgia Hart (another sibling of Bret and Owen) and B.J. Annis. Ted became the first third-generation Hart to be featured on national TV when he appeared on a few "Total Nonstop Action" shows and when he became a star of the short-lived MTV broadcast wrestling promotion Wrestling Society X. He was a part of the WWE developmental system but was released. Featured Video
