The Best Online Prom Boutiques

Shop these web-based prom stores for a wider selection.

Your prom dress is something you’ll likely remember for the rest of your life. Instead of hitting the regular stores in town, you may want to shop for your prom online. Prom websites often have hundreds or thousands of different styles and a wider range of sizes than you’ll find in brick and mortar stores. But before you order- get out a measuring tape and make sure you know all of your measurements, then compare them to the site’s (and the designer's) size chart. That way you can avoid pesky returns. A couple online prom sites seem to sell knock-offs… but we won’t mention their names here. Instead, check out these reputable prom retailers.

Peaches Boutique has a store location in Chicago, IL as well as an online boutique that carries thousands of dresses by it-prom designers like Sherri Hill, Cassandra Stone Plus and Flirt by Maggie Sotero. You can narrow your choice down by designer, then by price (which is especially helpful), then by color, then by style, then by occasion. Peaches Boutique also lets you create a store list so you can show your mom or your friends later. More »

Jovani Dress

There might be over a thousand dresses on, all by fab prom designers like La Femme, Jovani, Alyce Paris and tons more. Luckily you can narrow down your search pretty easily- just sort by designer, color, and style. The “style” search is especially detailed, with sections for “Celebrity Dresses,” “Open Back,” “Mermaid,” and more. Their sizes vary depending on what the designer offers. Some dresses go from 00 to 14, while others go up to size 20.

Unique Vintage

For the girl who turns her nose up at trends and gets her fash-inspiration from her grandmother (and great-grandmother’s) teen years, there’s Unique Vintage. From drop-waist flapper-esque frocks to flirty fifties flare skirts and retro accessories, you can find something from nearly every decade. And not all their gowns are vintage! They're vintage-inspired... so you're still getting a new gown. They also carry traditional prom designers dresses of today, but the selection is intentionally off-beat.
