The Bull likes to move through life in a slow and steady way, partly because it's the sign of the five senses alert, and taking it all in. When Taurus is depressed, the instinct is to check out, and one symptom of that is becoming inert. They instinctively sleep more, and rest to work it out. But chronic inertia is their downfall. Sleeping all the time is a big tip off, that the Taurus tendency to malaise has taken a dark turn. And yet, it could be just what they need to return to the land of the living. Many Bulls are private with their emotions, and have a small circle of trusted confidants. They're also patient -- and stubborn -- with whatever is happening. Whatever it is, they want to deal with it in their own way. The thought-to-be Taurus Shakespeare wrote in Macbeth wrote this on the restorative fix of sleep. But the Bull starts stomping and fuming, when forced to be around people they don't like. Your nature is mostly peaceful, and that's the other harmony you seek. If you're around gossipy people who pester you and get into your business, that takes a huge toll. You're also apt to go into hiding around dominant, super social, loud and aggressive people. Your self-image could take a beating, if you're in the shadow of someone who seems to command the space. You need space to unfold in and that means feeling secure, and also respected for who you are. It's nerve-wracking for you to be around people who rush you, and pressure you to adapt to their rhythm. The pent up anger turns to irritability, then to depression, if it's not expressed. The fixed nature of Taurus means you could come to conclusions that "fix in" a sense of a situation being hopeless. Signs of Taurus Depression: Extreme defensiveness, and resistance to all plans. Taking refuge in a fixed cycle of work and sleep. Feelings of being terminally stuck, unable to make changes. Overindulging in pleasure to the point of gluttony. Shunning all, even close friends. Sensory Revival The way out of the funk for those with Taurus energies, is through the senses. And as an earth sign, nature is your champion and ally. Any kind of aromatherapy could lift your mood, including cooking or baking your favorite-smelling foods. If you're feeling lost, resolve to listen to your body, and treat it with tender, loving care. A massage or other body-oriented session could perk you up. See also when there's Too Much Earth, or Too Little. Suggestions for Healing Taurus Energy Depression Plan one thing to look forward to.
