The ads would be actual short comic book stories written by actual staffers from Marvel and DC Comics. They also featured some of the weirdest villains of all-time. Here are 12 strange Batman villains from Hostess comic book ads. 02 of 13 1. The Muse DC Comics The Muse was a popular accompanist to notable pop singers. However, some of the artists he works with have disappeared. As it turns out, the Muse has been transforming them into musical notes and storing them in his keyboard! While he is in the midst of kidnapping another band, Batman and Robin distract him with a plate of Hostess cup cakes and ultimately frees the kidnapped singers. 03 of 13 2. Topsy-Turvy Man DC Comics The Topsy-Turvy Man turns everyone upside down through some sort of gravity powers. Batman is trapped along with the others. Luckily, he then drops some Hostess fruit pies from his pockets, distracting the Topsy-Turvy Man enough for Batman to knock him right side up. 04 of 13 3. The Intergalactic Gold-Eaters DC Comics The alien invaders known as the Gold-Eaters are known for their propensity to, well, you know, eat gold. Luckily, Batman saves Earth's gold supply by giving them an alternate food source - the golden sponge cake of Twinkies! 05 of 13 4. Mr. Foxx DC Comics The villainous Mr. Foxx kidnapped six of the best chefs in Gotham City and for their ransom, he demanded Hostess snack cakes. Batman knew he would be distracted by enjoying the cake, so Batman was able to follow him without being noticed and voila, the Foxx was cooped up! 06 of 13 5. The Crime Director DC Comics The Crime Director's name is on point, as he is a villain who directs others in the commission of crimes. The Midnight Ladies DC Comics The Midnight Ladies are a trio of villains who specialize in stealing dark things, like minks and oil. The Svengali Brothers DC Comics Three is once again the magic number for this trio of brothers who are able to "persuade" people into following their commands. Batman distracts them with Hostess snack cakes to break their spell and then he knocks them out. 09 of 13 8. Professor Plutonium DC Comics Professor Plutonium is obsessed with gold, (as you would figure, with a name like Professor Plutonium...wait a second...), and he threatens to destroy the United States' supply of gold unless he is given gold. Batman gives him the Gold-Eaters' solution, offering the golden sponge cake of Twinkies instead. 10 of 13 9. The Corsair of Crime DC Comics This pirate-themed villain the Corsair of Crime dealt with a mutiny of his crew after they turned on him in favor of Hostess Fruit Pies. 11 of 13 10. The Mink Marauder DC Comics The Mink Marauder is known for her great taste in the items that she steals, so Batman decided to use her own great taste against her by tempting her with the great taste of Hostess CupCakes. 12 of 13 11. Pigeon Person DC Comics You know you're scraping the barrell of super villain names when you just end up with "Pigeon Person." Anyhow, Pigeon Person commanded an army of birds that stole statues. Luckily, Batman was able to distract her birds with a pile of Hostess CupCakes - birds love Pigeon Person, but they love Hostess more! 13 of 13 12. The Mummy DC Comics At least the Pigeon Person was an original character. the Mummy was just, you know, a Mummy. Batman and Robin are able to lure the Mummy away with some Twinkies. Yes, even the walking dead like Twinkies!
