He first came to national prominence wrestling in WCW before getting fired from that company while recuperating from an injury. After a brief stint in ECW, Stone Cold Steve Austin turned the tide of the Monday Night War and became one of the faces of The Attitude Era. A neck injury led to his career ending prematurely.
