11 Seriously Funny Shred Music Videos on YouTube

A shred video takes a music video (or live performance) and dubs over the audio with ridiculously bad sounds. The process of shredding extracts an audio track from a video, which typically features a so-called overrated rock guitarist. The audio is then replaced with synchronized rubbish in the name of comedy.

The Comedic Art of Shreds

When a guitarist shreds, it means they are playing quickly on a guitar. This can be done with several emotions ranged from grace to anger. Watching shreds is like watching your favorite artists as they give the absolute worst musical performance of their lives, which, as seen from the shred videos, is funny to watch. The point of shreds is purely for the sake of parody and is in good fun, although it is possible that the musicians themselves feel poorly about their music being spoofed in the name of shreds.

The following 11 videos include popular videos and live music from some of the most well-known musicians today. See how some of the dubbed flat screeching, singing, and twangy out-of-tune instruments affect the feeling of the performance, leading to some of the funniest and weirdest shred videos on YouTube.
