Dr. Richard Nordquist is professor emeritus of rhetoric and English at Georgia Southern University. During his 35 years in the university classroom, he taught courses including English composition, rhetoric, business communication, creative nonfiction, and literature. Dr. Nordquist also served as the director of the university writing center and the assistant dean of academic services.
Dr. Nordquist has written several grammar and composition textbooks for use in freshman English courses. He is also a freelance writer, professional editor, and writing consultant. He previously served as a visiting professor at Tallinn University (Tallinna Ülikool) in Estonia.
Richard Nordquist received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Rhetoric and English from the University of Georgia in 1990. He holds a Master Arts (M.A.) in English, Modern English and American Literature from the University of Leicester and a bachelors in English from SUNY. Richard also studied British Literature at the University of Nottingham.
