Everything You Need for The Perfect Faux Tan

Creating the perfect bronze summer glow can be tricky at times when you aren't sure of where to begin. When it comes to bronzing, it's imperative to add warmth to the face and body that also casts a natural looking finish versus something much more noticeable. Keep reading my tips on everything you need to create the perfect faux glow and avoid those harmful UV rays!

Sephora

This product is an amazing bronzer for the face and can be used a few different ways. Since it's extremely sheer in texture, you can build the color as you go without over-applying it. The first way to use it is as a sheer foundation all over the skin. This is ideal when your skin tone changes during warmer months and you want to even it out. Simply apply a few drops to your hand, rub your powder brush over it and apply in a sweeping motion all over the face to create a light tint effect.

The second way to use this bronzer is as a contour for the face. You can use the same technique applying it with a blush or powder brush, just on the forehead, cheek, and jawline to naturally contour. Finish with your favorite cream blush or highlighter on top.

Lastly, if you have a foundation that you love and wear all year round but your skin is a bit darker in the summer, mix a drop of the bronzer in with your regular foundation and blend all over the face until skin tone is even.

St. Tropez

This self-tanning mousse is the perfect product to tan the body with, and doesn't smell bad or leave an orange cast on the skin. Perfect for fair to dark skin types, it comes in two shades depending on how dark you want to go. The best way to self tan at home isn't as hard as you think! Exfoliate and shave in the shower, apply a light body oil afterwards and apply the mousse in long strokes with the application mitt until you feel you get an even application. Let it dry for 6-8 hours and then rinse it off in the shower.

Chasidy McDowell, tanning expert to the stars recommends to moisturize every day after you've applied your bronzing mousse and after it's been 3 days, use a gradual tanner to give your glow longevity and recommends using this product here in between applications.
