While there can be local demand for wood fiber for applications such as boiler fuel, particle board and others, its value is quite low. As a result, the cost of shipping it can prove to be costly unless there is a local user. One way that wood processors can increase the value of their wood residuals is through the manufacturing of wood pellets from the wood residuals created during production. Pellet production also offers a value-added alternative to agricultural biomass generation. Here is a list of pellet manufacturing equipment vendors to consider.
