Nintendogs for Nintendo DS is a virtual pet simulator game available in four versions and each contains a different selection of six dogs to start. Get strategies for training your dog and learn how to unlock all cheats for Nintendogs: Labrador and Friends on DS.

These cheats are specifically for Nintendogs: Labrador & Friends, also known as Nintendogs: Shiba And Friends, on Nintendo DS. There are separate cheats for Nintendogs: Dachshund & Friends on DS.

How to Unlock All Nintendog Breeds

Get other dogs by linking your DS with other players, but you can also unlock everything by simply playing the game.

If you're playing an imported version of Nintendogs, then the requirements for unlockables may differ.

How to Reset Nintendog Data

When starting the game, hold L + R + A + B + X + Y at the Nintendo logo to delete your saved data and begin anew.

How to Unlock New Breeds Through Linking

It's possible to unlock new breeds by linking your DS to another DS system with a different version of Nintendogs. The breed unlocked corresponds with your partner's current pet, and it must be a breed that you do not have in order for it to be unlocked.

You can only link with another Nintendo DS system once to unlock a new breed.

Easy Items Glitch

The game controls how many items you can collect by limiting how often you can go for walks, but there's a glitch that lets you take walks and collect items indefinitely:

  1. Take your dog for a walk and collect as many items as possible before you get to the park.

  2. As soon as you enter the park, go into the menu to change your dog's accessory, then tap back.

  3. After the game auto-saves, turn off your DS.

  4. When you reload your save file, immediately go for another walk to get more items.

    You'll have the items you previously collected, but you won't earn owner points or increase your dog's stamina since you didn't technically finish the walk.

How to Learn Unlimited Tricks

Your dog can only learn a set number of new tricks each day; however, it's possible to change the DS system clock to trick the game into thinking a day has passed. Set the system time and date to 23:59 yesterday, then turn off your DS. When you load your save file, the game will think it's a new day, so you can keep learning tricks and participate in more competitions.

How to Raise More Than Three Dogs

The Dog Hotel can house five dogs. The three you can raise don't count toward that limit, so it's possible to raise up to eight dogs simultaneously.

Where's the Best Place to Train Your Dog?

Each competition should be trained at a different place: disc competition at the park, agility at the gymnasium, and obedience at an empty park or house.

How to Control the Peach Cart

If you find a Peach cart in an item box, you can control it by pressing B to move forward, A to move backward, and Left or Right to turn. If a dog hits it, the cart will spin around in place.
