8 Fantasy Football Mock Draft Sites

Get ready for Draft Day by doing some mock drafts

NFL Mock Drafts

Nothing gets you through the doldrums of midsummer Fantasy Baseball like playing around on Fantasy Football mock draft sites. Not that Fantasy Baseball is boring, but when no other sports are going on, it gets a little repetitive.

It's likely that you know many of them and already have a year-long league on a couple of them. You might think practicing on several Fantasy Football mock draft sites would be a pain, but here’s why you should do it:

  • You’ll have a better knowledge of what to expect on Draft Day.
  • By using multiple sites, you’ll be able to draft against several mock drafters (or auto-drafters), which will keep you on your toes.
  • You’ll be using your rankings against several site rankings, which are usually used for auto-picks. This will help you adjust your own rankings as you realize the wide receiver you thought you could grab in Round 5 keeps getting drafted in Round 4.

8 Fantasy Football Mock Draft Sites

These sites have been doing this for years, as have most community members who will be drafting with you, although sometimes you’ll be drafting against artificial intelligence. You’ll know when that is on most of these sites, so pay closer attention to the real users’ picks. Get involved in the chat room, too, to pick other owners’ brains.

1. FantasyPros.com’s Draft Wizard

Without question, this is the best mock draft site. You can choose the size and style of your draft and where you want to pick in the first round. You can even point out at which site your draft will take place. You can load up the scoring system and league settings and then draft accordingly.

You also can load up your keeper league, and you can see how that draft will work out. That can be difficult for some players looking for mock draft help because keepers pull from 24 to 60 players out of the top section of a draft.

2. MyFantasyLeague.com Mock Drafts

This is a no-frills site, with tons of customization options. New free public mock drafts start every 10 minutes, with one-minute timers on each pick. A cool feature here is that you can go into the message boards and schedule mock drafts with others.

3. NFL.com’s Fantasy Football Mock Drafts

Without question, this is the best-looking mock draft room. Having NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell kick off your draft with an announcement is pretty cool. It also does mock fantasy auctions. The mocks go off every two or three minutes.

4. FantasyFootballCalculator.com’s Live Mock Drafts

This site has some of the best ADP values out there, which they get from all their mock drafts. You can choose which draft and which type of league you want to sit in on. You can do all sorts of mocks here, from eight to 14 teams. You can even do a Dynasty Rookie mock draft and look up completed drafts that other people have done.

5. MockDraftCentral.com’s Mock Drafts

These guys have been around for a decade or so, and now, the fellas at RotoWire.com run it. It's hard not to love their color coding for the positions in their ADP. They do mock drafts for Fantasy Baseball, Fantasy Football, Fantasy Basketball, Fantasy Hockey, and Fantasy NASCAR.

6. CBSSports.com’s Mock Drafts

CBSSports.com has had the best draft rooms dating back to 1998, when they bought Commissioner.com. They’re free, and you’ll be able to take part in some mock auction drafts. Another cool feature is that they’ll keep track of all your past mock drafts.

7. ESPN Mock Drafts

ESPN also has the ability to do mock auctions, and they have drafts starting every five minutes, so you can jump in at any time to mock one up. They have some of the best-looking pages of all the sites, and their mock drafts are as good as their regular drafts.

8. FleaFlicker.com Mock

This tight-knit community loves to do mock drafts. This is another no-frills website, and you won’t be inundated with an overly fancy user interface. It’s tight, it’s clean. Basically, you run a Java applet in your browser, and you draft inside that.
