That's because May is Jewish-American Heritage Month, Meditation Month, and National Egg Month. The United States is very prolific at creating "national month" events. In addition to businesses—whether they be major national conglomerates or local ma-and-pa shops—numerous worthwhile organizations and special interest groups including religious and ethnic ones establish a promotion during a calendar month. This dedicated month helps to get their name and message out to the public.
