The show is about the dysfunctional Bundy family. Shoe salesman Al was the patriarch of the family that consisted of his shopping addicted wife Peggy, his not so smart but gorgeous daughter Kelly and his son Bud who was the most intelligent one of the Bundy clan. The show ran from 1987 to 1997 and since then most the cast has kept themselves very busy, finding success in movies, television and the theater. Here is a look at what the cast of Married With Children is up to now. 02 of 08 Ed O'Neil (Al Bundy) (Getty Images) Ed O’Neil will always and forever be Al Bundy. However since landing the role of patriarch Jay Pritchett on Modern Family in 2009, O’Neil has shed his Bundy image, somewhat. Between his now two famous roles, Ed kept busy with guest appearances on shows like 8 Simple Rules, with former costar Katey Sagal and In living Color, as well as recurring roles on shows like The West Wing and John From Cincinnati. O’Neil was also cast in the remake of Dragnet as Sgt. Joe Friday but the show was canceled after only two seasons. He also reunited for a multi-episode arc on David Faustino’s short-lived show Star-ving. 03 of 08 Katey Sagal (Peg Bundy) Getty Images Katey Sagal played the shop addicted Peg, who was known for red bouffant hair and tacky 60’s style clothing. It didn’t take long for Katey to shake the Peg persona. She has gone on to have an amazing television career. Immediately following the shows end, she became the voice of Leala on the hit animated comedy Futureroma. Sagal went on to play Cate Hennessy, John Ritter’s wife on 8 Simple Rules. The show was canceled after three seasons and Ritter’s death. After 8 Simple Rules was over, Katey made a slew of guest appearances on shows like Lost, The Winner, Star-ving and Glee. Katey gained a lot of attention for playing Gemma Teller Morrow on the FX hit show Sons of Anarchy, which was also created by her husband Kurt Sutter. Pitch Perfect 2 fans got a glimpse of Katey’s singing talent when she played a mom of the newest Bella, Emily. 04 of 08 Christina Applegate (Kelly Bundy) Getty Images Christina Applegate was just a teenager when she played dumb blonde Kelly Bundy. Since the show ended Applegate has proven she is nothing like her Married With Children alter ego. Applegate has had success in both film and television throughout her career. She is best known for her film roles in The Sweetest Thing, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgondy, Alvin & The Chipmunks and most recently Vacation. Her television career includes playing the lead role in sitcoms, Jesse, Samantha Who and Up All Night. She is now cancer free and runs Right Action For Women, which is dedicated to breast cancer screening for women. 05 of 08 David Faustino (Bud Bundy) Gett Images David Faustino and Bud Bundy will always be one in the same.
