Maria Ciaccia is a former writer for ThoughtCo who specialized in television dramas, especially shows like ABC's General Hospital, for over seven years. As an avid fan of General Hospital, Maria covered many fan events as well as the Daytime Emmy Awards. She visited the set many times. Maria met or interviewed several of the show's stars including Jackie Zeman, Stuart Damon, Ingo Rademacher, Leslie Charleson, Tony Geary, Constance Towers, Leslie Kay, Carolyn Hennesy, Kathleen Gati, Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio), Richard Burgi, Matthew Ashford (ex-Tom Hardy) and Julian Stone (ex-Jerry Jacks).
Her writing and interviews appear in Soaps in Depth Magazine, The World Times, and People Magazine. Marie is also an expert on the stars of Hollywood from the 1940s and 1950s. She wrote Dreamboats: Hollywood Hunks of the 50s (Excalibur Pub, 1st edition, 1992) which highlights some of the heartthrobs of the time. Marie collaborated with author Barry Paris on several books he created about movie stars such as Greta Garbo. Audrey Hepburn, and Tony Curtis. She appeared eight times as the guest expert on E! Entertainment Television's series, Mysteries and Scandals. Maria is the founder and manages the website, MovieMemories.net and produces the podcast The Dream Factory.
Maria Ciaccia received a Bachelor of Music (B.M.) in Voice and Opera from the Boston Conservatory. She also studied Voice at the Eastman School of Music and Opera at Boston College.
