When wearing these types of wigs, it's important to make sure it's applied correctly. This isn't a wig to toss on when you're in a hurry, and it's not an accessory to wear past its prime. For every bad lace wig example, however, there is redemption. 02 of 17 Beyonce: Bad Example Singer Beyonce Knowles arrives at the opening of Jay-Z's USD 20 million 40/40 Club. Ethan Miller/Getty Images Beyonce wasn't having the best hair day here with this poorly fitted wig. It can be tricky to make sure the lace part of the wig sits in the exact right spot. This one was applied too low, making her forehead appear shorter than it really is. 03 of 17 Beyonce: Better Beyonce Knowles - June 22, 2005 at MTV Studios - Times Square in New York City. Michael Loccisano/FilmMagic A better hair day for Beyonce features a more natural-looking hairline that hits the right place. Noel Vasquez/Getty Images for Extra Tyra Banks' wig game is usually on point, so not sure what happened here. Those slicked-down "baby hairs" aren't helping matters, either. 05 of 17 Tyra Banks: Better Blonde Tyra Banks attends the 2012 Matrix Awards Luncheon. Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Images This is more like the Tyra Banks we're used to. Good color, great placement, and no super-long baby fringe. 06 of 17 Nicki Minaj: Too Low MAC Viva Glam spokesperson Nicki Minaj. Dave M. Benett/Getty Images Just say "no" to platinum lace fronts if they look like this. Nicki Minaj is known for her wig skills, but this was definitely an off day. 07 of 17 Nicki Minaj: Much Improved Recording artist Nicki Minaj arrives at the Los Angeles Premiere 'The Other Woman' at Regency Village Theatre on April 21, 2014 in Westwood, California. Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic This look is a huge improvement, and not just because the color is more natural and flattering than that too-bright blonde in the previous photo. 08 of 17 Naomi Campbell: Hairline Issues Naomi Campbell at Bryant Park September 13, 2004 in New York City. Trish Lease/Getty Images There's been plenty of talk about Naomi Campbell's thinning edges. Lace front wigs aren't the best choice for anyone suffering similar issues. If you must wear one, however, don't wear it like this. 09 of 17 Naomi Campbell: Supermodel Savvy Model Naomi Campbell attends the Fashion Rocks Concert on September 8, 2004 at Radio City Music Hall. Peter Kramer/Getty Images Naomi Campbell looks more like her supermodel self with this hair. 10 of 17 Ciara: Obvious Mistakes Singer Ciara at Milk Studios on May 12, 2011. David Livingston/Getty Images Proper application is key for making a lace front look realistic. Ciara just misses the mark with the slight gathering along her hairline, which is usually due to not cutting the lace portion exactly right, leaving it overlapping onto skin. It can also result from double-sided tape sticking out from beneath the wig. What you get: obvious bunching anytime you make any sort of facial expression. 11 of 17 Ciara: A More Natural Look Singer Ciara. Michael Buckner/Getty Images She gets it right this time, with no telltale lace front wig signs in sight. 12 of 17 Kelly Rowland: Wig Disaster Zone Recording artist Kelly Rowland. David Livingston/Getty Images Is there anything right about this lace front on Kelly Rowland? Unfortunately, no. The glue line is glaringly obvious and the fit is way off. It looks like this wig was thrown on instead of being fitted at all. 13 of 17 Kelly Rowland: Beautifully Done Recording artist Kelly Rowland arrives at 'The X Factor' Finalists Party at SLS Hotel on November 4, 2013 in Los Angeles, California. Allen Berezovsky/WireImage Look #2 is much better. The center part actually looks natural and the whole hairstyle doesn't scream "lace front." 14 of 17 Mary J. Blige: Not a Perfect Lace Fit Now, this hurts because I love Mary J. Blige and her longtime fearlessness when it comes to hair, especially color. She was blonde before we knew who Eve and Beyonce were. This obvious wig line is killing me. 15 of 17 Mary J. Blige: Cute Blonde Bob Singer Mary J. Blige looks on during the 20th annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert. Chris Jackson/Getty Images for Nobel Peace Prize Concert Not only is this short bob adorable on Mary J. Blige, it fits perfectly. Blonde Hair Pictures 16 of 17 Brandy: Bad Fit Singer Brandy arrives at The Cosmopolitan Grand Opening and New Year's Eve Celebration in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kevin Mazur/WireImage Brandy is known for wigs, so when you wear as many as she does, there will be a time or two of less-than-perfect results. This was one of those times. The wig is sitting too low on her forehead for this to look natural. 17 of 17 Brandy: More Flattering Style Brandy does it right with this wig. Her hairline looks normal and this waved bob is simply a more flattering style than the last. Featured Video
