Kimberly Powell is a genealogist and writer with close to 20 years of experience. In 2013, Kimberly won the Silver Tray for Excellence in Genealogical Publishing for her work. She is also the author of The Everything Guide to Online Genealogy.
Kimberly has taught courses at the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh, Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, and the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research. She is a former president of the Association of Professional Genealogists and a member of the National Genealogical Society and International Society of Family History Writers and Editors. Kimberly has also volunteered as a webmaster for the Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society.
Kimberly Powell holds a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University's Center for Professional Education. She attended the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research at Stanford University; studied advanced genealogical methodology at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy; and attended Carnegie Mellon University.
