Katie grew up skiing in the eastern United States and completed her Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) teaching certification at Killington Ski Resort. Katie obtained her North America Snowsports Journalist (NASJA) certification in 2012. NASJA accredits reporters for winter sporting events like the X Games.
