Katie grew up skiing in the eastern United States and completed her Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) teaching certification at Killington Ski Resort. She then expanded her skiing boundaries west, exploring a multitude of mountains with her father, also a ski writer. Katie obtained her North America Snowsports Journalist (NASJA) certification in 2012. NASJA accredits reporters for winter sporting events like the X Games.

Education

Katie graduated summa cum laude from Boston University's College of Communication, with a B.S. in Journalism. She also holds a PSIA ski instruction certification and is an accredited NASJA journalist.
