When you really like a guy, you'll do your best to capture his eye, his attention, and hopefully his heart. But rather than pining after him and trying to be the one who does all the pursuing, the good news is that there are six key ways that you can put the odds in your favor and make him chase you instead.

1. Be Confident

If you want a man to chase you, it’s important that you think you’re worthy of being chased and pursued.

You have to be your own advocate and have confidence in how awesome and amazing you are if you want him to want you. If you turn up your confidence levels and build your self-esteem, he’ll be attracted to your outgoing nature and the positive vibes that you’re putting out there. When you know your self-worth and recognize how much you have to offer, this will resonate with others. And while this certainly doesn’t mean that you should act in a conceited, egotistical, or obnoxious way, it does mean that you should believe in yourself and know that you’re a person of high value and are worthy of being chased in the first place.

2. Be Mysterious

When you’re able to create a sense of mystery around you and your daily routine, a man is more likely to chase you. For example, instead of telling him every single thing you did over the weekend and giving him a play-by-play, you should keep things vague in order to pique his interest.

That way, he’ll be left wondering who you were with and what you were doing, and he’ll be more interested in getting to know you because there is more to you than meets the eye. When you choose to be elusive and vague with him, he'll be even more intrigued and inspired to learn more about you and try to figure you out.

3. Don’t Be So Available

People often want what they can’t have, and if you're trying to make a man chase you, it’s important that you don't make yourself overly available to him. For example, while you may be inclined to text him back right away or drop everything in order to see him and spend time with him, you shouldn’t make it so easy for him to be in contact with you. When you create the feeling of distance between the two of you and make it harder for him to track you down, he’ll be even more inclined to pursue you since he hasn’t won you over just yet. If he can sense that he's not your top priority, he'll likely work even harder to reach that status with you.

4. Have Your Own Life

What activities do you most enjoy doing? What are you passionate about? In order to make a man chase you, it’s imperative that you have your own interests, hobbies, and pursuits. If you want to capture his attention, he needs to know that you’re a multi-dimensional person with a full and fun life. Instead of sitting at home waiting for his call or text, he’s more likely to chase you and be intrigued by you if you’re out and about living your own life, as he’ll want to be a part of it. Whether you take voice lessons, enjoy visiting art museums, volunteer, or participate in a bowling league, he'll be even more likely to chase you because you don't necessarily need him in your life to have your own life.

5. Don’t Always Initiate

If you want to make a man chase you, then you have to give him the opportunity to do so. For example, if you’re always the one reaching out to him and initiating plans, texting him over the weekend, and calling him when he's on your mind, you’re not even giving him a chance to pursue you, as you’re the one chasing him. While you may want to constantly see him, talk to him, and text him because you really like him, it’s important that you give him the opportunity to take the lead and pursue you. In many cases, a guy isn't going to take the time to chase a girl who's pursuing him because he knows he doesn't have to do so.

6. Keep Flirting

What’s wrong with a little friendly and flirty competition? In order to make a man chase you, he shouldn’t feel as though he’s already caught you and that you only have eyes for him.

For instance, if you’re naturally flirty with others around you on occasion and don’t just limit yourself to being playful with him, he’ll be even more inclined to chase you because he'll want to be the only guy with whom you flirt. When he sees you joking around, laughing with others, and having a blast with someone else, he’s going to try even harder to chase and pursue you so that he’s the sole focus of your attention and affection.
