Gorgeous Celebrity Hairstyles for Round Faces

If you have a round face you are in great company, because so do the celebrities in this slide show. It's always a good idea to know which celebrities share your face shape and hair texture because what looks good on them might look good on you.

Once you know which celebrity shares your face, you can be on the lookout for their hairstyles as they change over the month and years to get a good idea of how you might change your own look. Always consider hair texture, because your curly hairstyle won't look the same in a style as a celebrity's naturally straight hair.

Let's start with Kate Bosworth. Such a gorgeous girl. Kate has a round face and typically keeps her hair blonde, long and with beachy waves.

Olivia Munn

Olivia Munn is a natural round face. She tends to choose hairstyles that fall between the chin and just below the shoulders -- all lengths that are naturally flattering on her face shape.

Why this cut works:

• Munn's hair has natural wave in it and this tousled, casual look is very flattering because the body is not at her cheeks, which could make them look bigger. Round face shapes should keep the hair volume at the chin or lower so as not to make the face appear rounder.
• You'll notice many of the celebrities in this gallery sport middle parts, which are especially flattering on round faces. Munn is no exception.
• The length falls longer than her chin. Round faces should avoid blunt chin-length bobs such as these because they can make the face appear wider than it already is.
• Choppy ends are super flattering and work better than a blunt cut.

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson seems to know which hairstyles work best on her naturally round face. She sticks with hair that's longer than her chin (a plus), that has layers (another plus) and includes some sort of fringe (another big plus).

The layers of her hairstyle here add definition to a face that lacks angles.

Charlize Theron

This hairstyle is one of my favorite looks on Charlize Theron, who has a bit of a baby face. The long style with center part is very flattering on Theron who has tried many different hair lengths, but who tends to stick with her trademark blonde color.

Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis, a natural round face celebrity, tends to wear her hair long, which is a flattering look for someone with her face shape. Make sure to cut in long layers, as Kunis does here, to give your long hair a modern edge.

Jenna Ushkowitz

Jenna's hairstyle here is absolutely fabulous! Note the bangs and the long hair, both are great picks for a round face.

Emma Stone

This hairstyle is simple and perfect for a round face shape. The side-swept bangs are gorgeous, as is the length. Emma frequently adds a little bit of curl to her hair. Just lovely.

Mandy Moore

Kirsten Dunst

Kirsten has worn her hair chin-length and longer. Longer looks much better on her round face. This particular cut works well because the bangs are side swept and the curls are feathered out.

Adele

Adele has lost weight and her round is no longer as chubby as it once was, but she still has a naturally round face.

Tatyana Ali

Edgy cuts such as this one work well on a round face as long as the hair isn't cut too short (i.e. above the chin) and the hair is straight.

This look on Tatyana Ali works on her because of the varying lengths and the angles. If you're not up for such an edgy look, you can get a great variation on this by asking for a tapered bob or shag with the hair cut a bit longer in the front and shorter in the back. The secret lies in keeping the front of the hair longer than the chin. You still get edge with such a tapered look, but it's less odd than the edgier cuts like this one.

Queen Latifah

This cut is obviously a weave. It's a great cut for anyone with a round face. Note how the curls fall below the chin.

Paula Deen

You can wear your hair short if you have a round face; you just want to make sure there is body on top of the head to give the appearance of length. A good rule of thumb is to create height, not width.

Christina Ricci

Christina Ricci goes for lovely angular styles. Her huge eyes and round face look great with these angular cuts. I love the heavy bangs here.

Kelly Osbourne

Forget the lavender color, Kelly Osbourne's haircut here is a good example of a cut that works well on a round face, and it's a good example of curly hair on a round face. If you have curly hair, make sure to keep the curls tamed with a keratin treatment or lots of product. Frizz or too much body can make a round face appear rounder.

Drew Barrymore

Drew tends to keep hairstyles that are relatively simple to maintain. Here she goes back to blonde after a few years as a brunette. The length is quite trendy at the moment as is the fact that she's letting her natural waves go without them getting too frizzy.

Fergie

Fergie tends to keep her hair super long, but I quite like this shorter version of the long hairstyle. I also like the middle part, which seems younger and fresher than the side part.

Mariska Hargitay

This is a quintessential good cut for a round face. It's the perfect length and has enough layers to give the hair movement.

Hayden Panettiere

Long, side-swept bangs are flattering on a round face, as proven by actress Hayden Panettiere. Note also the long length (always a good choice for a round face) and the way the curls start below the chin. You don't want to add width to the sides of a round face, so curly hair or curled hair works best on long lengths. Also, note how her curls flip outward. The feathered curl is a great choice for round faces.

Renee Zellweger

Short hair works on a round face as long as the hair doesn't hit right at the chin and the hair around the ears is not cut too short.
