Loosely based on Greek mythology, it tells the story of a Spartan warrior named Kratos who seeks revenge on Ares, the god of war, for the deaths of his wife and child. With these God of War cheats, you should have no trouble rising to the occasion. The following cheats are for the 2005 God of War for PlayStation 2. We also have separate cheats for God of War 2018 for PlayStation 4. How to Move Faster Use the right analog stick to make Kratos roll forward, then press R1 to execute a Hermes Rush shoulder charge before the roll ends. Repeat to move faster. You need to pull off the charge in order for this trick to work. How to Get Unlimited Experience in Pandora's Temple During Atlas's Quest in Pandora's Temple, you encounter a series of stone walls you can climb. There are several armored legionnaires who try to knock you off of the walls. Kill all of them first, then climb to the top of the tallest ledge. If you look close enough by one of the nearby treasure chests, you should see what looks like a holographic harpy flying in one spot. Kill it and it keeps coming back to life so you can kill it again and again. You need to be careful in this area, but it's a great way to raise your weapons and magic spells to the maximum. How to Solve the Harpy Puzzle When you're in the room filled with harpies that keep coming when you kill them, they're coming out of odd-looking holes. To stop them, use the shields of the statues in the room to block the entrances. The left statue is placed in the right hole, and the right statue goes in the left hole. Cover the holes as quickly as possible to avoid taking hits and losing health. Once all holes are blocked off, kill the remaining harpies. Go up the stairs to the ledge with the boards that fall off when you go across. Don't worry if you fall; just get back up and try again. As the boards continue to crumble, the correct path is revealed, and you don't have to worry about being bombarded by harpies. How to Pull Off Quick Time Events Some quick time events are challenging to execute. For example, to kill the Hydra, you need to press the O button repeatedly very quickly. A helpful trick is to hold the controller with your left hand and make your right hand into a fist with the thumb sticking out. This way your right hand is free to rapidly staccato beat the O button with your thumb. This lets you use your wrist instead of trying to rapidly move your thumb. How to Unlock God Mode and Challenge of the Gods Beat the game on any difficulty setting to unlock God Mode. Then, you can choose it when you start a new game. It makes enemies significantly stronger. Completing the game also unlocks secret videos featuring deleted levels and Challenge of the Gods, a series of short bonus stages. God of War Secret Codes and Easter Eggs Once you beat the game in God Mode, you see the same ending you watched in Normal Mode, but you also get a toll-free phone number to call: 1-800-613-8840. Call it for a congratulatory message from Kratos. Additionally, visit the throne room after beating the game and attack the two statues at the bottom of your throne. After several hits, you get a second toll-free phone number: 1-888-447-5594. Call it to hear more from Kratos and the God of War developers. These numbers are toll-free in the US and Canada, but fees may apply elsewhere.
