And while there may be times when you’re in the mood to venture out on a hike, take a stroll in the park or head to an outdoor theme park, these nine indoor dates are perfect for when the weather is less than ideal. 1. Go to an aquarium. If you’re looking for an indoor date idea that can help you learn if you and your date get along swimmingly, heading to an aquarium is a fun choice. Not only will you get to see all sorts of fascinating marine life, but it’s a great way to test the waters with your date and see what you have in common. And if you end up finding that you’re not that compatible, don’t worry—there are plenty of other fish in the sea. 2. Head to a museum. Along these lines, if you’re looking for a fun indoor date idea with an interesting twist, there’s nothing antiquated about heading to a museum. In fact, no matter what type of museum you visit, whether it’s one devoted to art, natural history or something a bit wackier and one-of-a-kind, walking around while looking at the different exhibits with your date is a great way to exhibit your one-of-a-kind personality. 3. Put on your skates. For another fun date, head to an indoor roller rink or ice skating rink. Not only is this a great way to stay active and have some laughs with your date as you glide around and around, but you’re guaranteed to have someone’s hand to hold during the couple’s skate. 4. Go to an arcade. If you’re looking for a fun idea that’ll remind you and your date of happy memories from childhood, a visit to an arcade is a top-scoring pick. Plus, a little friendly and flirty competition between you and your date can help you to figure out if you make a good match while matching off against each other. 5. Head to a bowling alley. Speaking of games, another enjoyable date idea that has plenty of fun to spare is bowling. And whether you regularly bowl 300s or stay mainly in the gutter, this type of fun and upbeat atmosphere will have you and your date smiling and laughing, even if it’s just because of the multicolored bowling shoes you’ll both be wearing. 6. Go to the theater. Seeing a movie is a classic date idea that’s always a great option regardless of the movie you choose. You and your date can stock up on popcorn, licorice and/or other sweets as you sit next to your potential sweetheart. However, a movie theater isn’t the only option. Think outside the box (of movie candy) and see a play or musical instead. And if you're feeling really high-brow, get dressed up and find discount tickets to the opera or symphony. 7. Go to a concert. If you truly want to hit a high note with your date, seeing live music is truly a great-sounding option. And whether you’re looking for an intimate lounge setting or would like to go to a much larger venue, seeing a band whose lyrics you can recite by heart or a group you don’t know can help to set the stage for a memorable date. Besides, you may just end up finding a new favorite song or band—and a new favorite person as well. 8. Have a workout date. Another great date idea that’ll have your heart pumping in every respect is to work out with your date. You can sign up for a Pilates, yoga or spinning class or try something a bit more daring, such as aerial aerobics and indoor rock climbing. Remember, doing something good for your heart with someone who could potentially capture your heart is truly a win-win! 9. Take a class together. You can also exercise your talents (or learn a new skill) by taking other kinds of creative classes together as well. There are so many classes available, from cooking to painting to ceramics. It's a great way to create something together and strengthen your bond.
