Do you want to get free L'Oreal makeup and skin products while helping them decide what new products consumers like you need? If you do, you'll want to check out the L'Oreal product testing program.

How to Join the L'Oreal Consumer Testing Program

Visit the L'Oreal Consumer Testing Program sign-up page to join. You'll need to answer some basic questions about yourself as well as fill out a profile that they can use to match you to certain skincare, hair, and makeup studies.

Once you join you'll be taken to your dashboard where you can view your available surveys, account information, and any studies that you're currently signed up for.

Get More Products by Completing Surveys

The most important area on your dashboard when you're getting started with the L'Oreal Consumer Testing Program is  Available Surveys. This where you can take surveys and qualify to be in a product test study.

Sometimes you'll get emailed when you have a survey available, but sometimes they'll just show up on your dashboard. It's important to log-in at least a few times a week and check for surveys. They accept the first people who fill out the survey who also matches the profile they're looking for, so it really pays to take the surveys as soon as they're up.

Answer honestly when you're taking a survey. They test all sorts of products and if you don't qualify to test one of them, you'll qualify for one in the future.

Testing a Product and Completing the Study

When you get accepted to test a product, you'll get an email giving you all the details. All the studies work a little bit differently but they'll probably give you dates and instructions for testing the products.

Look in your mailbox for your products you're going to test over the next week or two.

You'll receive complete instructions as well as the product to try.

At the end of the testing period, and sometimes throughout, you'll get a survey that asks for you to give your opinion about the product. Be sure to fill this out, this is the key to qualifying for more studies.

Tips on Getting Lots of Products to Test

Want to get even more L'Oreal products to test? Here are some tips:

  • Check their website daily and fill out any pre-qualification surveys. This is how they find out if you're a good fit for a product they're going to test.
  • Fill out any surveys they email you about as soon as you can. If they email you about a study, you probably already have a pretty good chance of getting selected. Fill it out as soon as you can before the spots fill up.
  • Complete all surveys after you've tested a product. If you don't fill out a survey about a product you've tested, you probably won't get selected for another study.

More Freebies for Successful Tests

L'Oreal often sends out some of their most popular products right of the shelve to thank you for completing a study.

The last study I was involved with I got a free mascara and foundation after I completed the final study survey. This was in addition to the free products that I got to test.

The Kind of L'Oreal Products You'll be Testing

Through the L'Oreal Consumer Testing Program, you'll get to test and keep hair care, hair styling, hair color, cosmetics, skincare, and sun care products.

You'll be testing L'Oreal products but you'll also be testing products from the other beauty and skincare companies that the L'Oreal Group owns including Garnier, Kiehl's, Urban Decay, Lancome, Maybelline, Redken, The Body Shop, Keratase, Clarisonic, SkinCeuticals, Matrix, Shu Uemura, Carol's Daughter, Softsheen-Carson, Miaani, and La Roche-Posay.

On-Site Testing Opportunities

L'Oreal has on-site testing opportunities in New Jersey, Ohio, and Illinois. If you live in one of these areas you may be asked to come in for some on-site testing opportunities.

You'll get to try some free products, have a lot of fun, and maybe even make some cash.

L'Oreal Product Testing Restrictions

The L'Oreal Consumer Testing Program is only open to United States residents who are 18 and over. Both men and women are welcome to participate.

From their survey questions, it seems like they won't choose people who have any business dealings with L'Oreal, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are under a dermatologist's care.
