Best Country Road Trip Songs

I don't know about you, but each time I get in my car, no matter if I'm just driving a few miles to the local grocery store, or 100 miles to fly off on a vacation, I have to have my country music with me. I've compiled a list of some of my favorite songs to create the ultimate road trip playlist.

Amarillo by Morning - George Strait

George Strait - 22 More Hits
George Strait - 22 More Hits. MCA Nashville

What would a drive in the car be like without something from the King George? This is another one that I just "have" to sing along with.

Anything But Mine - Kenny Chesney

Kenny Chesney - 'When The Sun Goes Down'
Kenny Chesney - 'When The Sun Goes Down'. BNA Nashville

Does Kenny Chesney know how to put out a bad song? Nope, not in my opinion. Most of these songs are up-tempo, but this one is a little slower and very pretty.

Bye Bye - Jo Dee Messina

Jo Dee Messina Greatest Hits
Jo Dee Messina - 'Greatest Hits'. Curb Records

Jo Dee Messina has done her share of spunky songs, and this one is one of the best. It's a perfect song for when you're not feeling happy with your significant other, and feel like saying "Bye Bye."

Days Go By - Keith Urban

Keith Urban - 'Be Here'
Keith Urban - 'Be Here'. Capitol Nashville

This is another one that just makes you wanna get in the car and turn it up, and put your "hand out the window in the wind."

Everywhere - Tim McGraw

Tim McGraw - 'Everywhere'
Tim McGraw - 'Everywhere'. Curb Records

This is probably my very favorite Tim McGraw song ever. I love the name dropping of cities. It's just got a really great "outdoor" feeling to it, and it's one I turn up every time I hear it on the radio.

Feels Like Today - Rascal Flatts

Rascal Flatts - 'Feels Like Today'
Rascal Flatts - 'Feels Like Today'. Lyric Street Records

Rascal Flatts are known for their wonderful harmonies, and I especially love the chorus of "Feels Like Today."

I May Hate Myself in the Morning - Lee Ann Womack

Lee Ann Womack - There's More Where That
Lee Ann Womack - There's More Where That Came From. MCA Nashville

This is one of Lee Ann Womack's very best songs. It's from her CMA Award-winning album There's More Where That Came From. Another slower song, but still a great song to listen to while driving.

Neon Moon - Brooks & Dunn

Brooks & Dunn - 'Brand New Man'
Brooks & Dunn - 'Brand New Man'. Arista Nashville

This is another song that is rooted in a concert experience. I can't hear this song without thinking about Ronnie Dunn's "Neon Moon" glow in the dark guitar. This has to be one of my all-time favorite Brooks & Dunn songs.

Nothin' On But the Radio - Gary Allan

Gary Allan - 'See If I Care'
Gary Allan - 'See If I Care'. MCA Nashville

Gary Allan can do happy and sad, but he excels at sexy, which is definitely what this song is. Hot! Hot! Hot! Love it!

Nothin' to Lose - Josh Gracin

Josh Gracin - Josh Gracin
Josh Gracin - Josh Gracin. Lyric Street Music

I may not be able to sing the words of this song as quickly as Josh Gracin does, but it's great fun to try to keep up with him.

Some Beach - Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton - Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill
Blake Shelton - 'Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill'. Warner Nashville

Blake Shelton, like Brad Paisley, knows how to sell a funny song. I can't think of this song without remembering the video, and I just love to sing along.

Suds in the Bucket - Sara Evans

Sara Evans - Greatest Hits
Sara Evans - Greatest Hits. Sony BMG

This is such a fun song. I just love the super country sound from Sara Evans.

What A Beautiful Day - Chris Cagle

Chris Cagle - 'Chris Cagle'
Chris Cagle - 'Chris Cagle'. Capitol Nashville

This is a great upbeat tune. Listening to this song while you drive will make you enjoy your traveling time even more, as you enjoy the day itself.

What's a Guy Gotta Do - Joe Nichols

Joe Nichols - 'Revelation'
Joe Nichols - 'Revelation'. Universal South

Joe Nichols shows that not only Brad Paisley and Blake Shelton can give us a humorous song, but he can as well. I just love the cajun feel to it.

You're My Better Half - Keith Urban

Keith Urban - 'Be Here'
Keith Urban - 'Be Here'. Capitol Nashville

Nothing gets my toes a-tappin' easier than putting on any Keith Urban song. I love the story of this song, singing about his girl. Aussome!
