Pros InexpensiveVery versatile for a plastic ballConsistent in its behavior Cons Low price can hurt its reputation Description Cover stock: plasticFinish: high polishColor: multiple optionsIdeal lane conditions: dryPrice: $30-$50 Guide Review - Ebonite Maxim Bowling Ball The general feeling on plastic bowling balls is "A plastic ball is a plastic ball." To some extent, that's accurate, but the Ebonite Maxim breaks the stereotype. Yes, the ball rolls straight. That is when you tell it to. On very dry lanes, this ball is capable of being your strike ball. I recently bowled a series with this ball on extremely dry lanes playing a simple line from the 10 board right into the pocket. I was impressed by the pin action this ball was able to create. Conversely, on freshly oiled lanes, this ball goes exactly where you throw it. Granted, I do make a couple finger-position adjustments when going from trying to hit the pocket to trying to pick up a 10 pin, but that speaks to the versatility of the ball. When people say a plastic ball is a plastic ball, they generally mean it goes straight and that's all there is to it. The Ebonite Maxim does that and much more. This ball is a very important part of my arsenal, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone who's looking for a plastic ball.
