How to Use Cheat Codes for Dragon Age: Origins on PC

If you want to use cheat codes for Dragon Age: Origins, you need to tweak the game's command line parameter and modify a file. Here's how:

Make sure to create a backup of the game file before you make any changes.

  1. Make a shortcut to the game's main daorigins.exe file (Dragon Age/bin_ship/daorigins.exe by default). If you have trouble locating this file, you may need to enable viewing hidden files.

  2. Right-click the shortcut, then select Properties.

  3. Add the command line parameter -enabledeveloperconsole.

  4. Now open the keybindings.ini file (commonly found under My Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/ Settings/) and find the following line:

  5. Change the line to read:

  6. Save the file and launch the game using the shortcut you created earlier. While in the game, press Q to bring up the developer console.

If you have the Steam version of the game, you can find the .exe file under Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common > dragon age origins > bin_ship.

The key you set in the keybindings file for console doesn't work in Steam. You can open the developer console using the tilde (~) key instead.
