Experience

Dan Cross is a former writer for ThoughtCo who contributed articles on learning to play the guitar for 18 years. He is a professional guitarist and former private instructor who has experience teaching and playing numerous styles of music. 

Dan's primary musical focus is jazz, and he was invited to perform at the IAJE in NYC jazz festival in 1998. He formerly ran a jazz website called Central Park North, which he started in 1997. Dan has also written artist biographies and album reviews for ​AllMusic, and his letters have been published in Downbeat magazine.

 

Education

Dan graduated with honors from the jazz studies program at Mohawk College in Ontario, Canada. He also spent a year in the applied music program at Humber College in Toronto.
