Based on the 2006 movie of the same name, Cars features over 50 races and 10 playable characters voiced by the original film actors. The PlayStation 2 version of Cars has cheat codes and unlockables including secret characters, hard mode, and mini-games.

These cheats are for the PlayStation 2 version. There are also cheats for Cars on the Nintendo Wii.

Select Options from the main menu, then select Password and enter the following codes to enable cheats.

How to Unlock Hard Mode

Create a new profile with the name CHMPION to unlock hard mode.

How to Unlock Secret Characters in Cars

If you don't want to use cheat codes, unlock new characters by completing specific tasks.

Boost Win a race on SuperHard setting.
Fillmore Win his boost race on Hard setting.
Hollister Complete 100 piston cup races.
Lee Jr. Complete 500 road races.
Tia Reach speeds of 250 mph.

Mack Unlock everything on two profiles.
Mia Win Hardiest mode in Monster Mayhem.

How to Escape the Desert

If you get lost in the desert, follow any other car without bumping into it to find your way back to Radiator Springs.
