Carlesa Williams is a former writer for ThoughtCo who contributed articles on speed and figure skating for seven and a half years. Since she started sidewalk roller skating as a little girl, she has competed in rhythm, roller figure, and ice synchronized skating with local, regional, and invitational placements. She was a Team USA member in the Large Show Team event at the 2003 World Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Williams is an active group class instructor and coach offering private lessons to youngsters whose goals are to skate competitively Her students have qualified for USARS 2001–2017 National Championships in inline freestyle, figures, loops, singles, dance, free dance, pairs, precision team, and show team events. She has produced national inline and quad medalists and has provided supplemental coaching services for senior-level skaters. Two of her skaters have qualified for the FIRS, now World Skate. Williams has been the USA Roller Sports media representative for articles and action photography at World Championships in the U.S., Italy, Spain, Taiwan, Germany, and Australia.
