They first came to fame when they won the third season of the NBC-TV a capella singing competition show The Sing-Off. They have won three Grammy Awards and sold nearly five million albums in the US alone. Seven collections of songs have reached the top 10 on the US album chart. These are their 10 best songs. It is a combination of covers and original material. 01 of 10 "Daft Punk" Madison Gate "Daft Punk" is a medley of songs from the French dance music duo Daft Punk. It features the songs "Get Lucky," "One More Time," and "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger." The recording followed the duo's successful return to the spotlight with the album Random Access Memories. The recording won a Grammy Award for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or a capella. In the accompanying music video, four of the five group members of Pentatonix wear blue contact lenses. Group member Kevin Olusola wears goggles that are reminiscent of the eyewear and helmets worn by Daft Punk. "Daft Punk" was included on the EP PTX, Vol. II. Watch Video 02 of 10 "Jolene" featuring Dolly Parton RCA Pentatonix joined country music legend Dolly Parton for a new recording of her classic song "Jolene." They provide both the backing vocal parts and what would normally be instrumental parts using their voices. The recording won a Grammy Award for Best Country Duo / Group Performance. This version of "Jolene" hit #18 on the country chart. It is included on the Pentatonix EP PTX, Vol. IV - Classics. Dolly Parton says the inspiration for the song "Jolene" was a red-haired bank clerk who flirted with her husband around the time that they were newlyweds. It was released in 1973 and became Dolly Parton's second #1 solo hit on the country chart. It also climbed to #60 on the pop chart and broke into the top 50 on the adult contemporary chart. The song became Dolly Parton's first top 10 pop hit single in the UK. "Jolene" was listed by Rolling Stone as one of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Watch Video 03 of 10 "Love Again" Madison Gate "Love Again" was one of three original songs recorded for the Pentatonix EP Pentatonix, Volume II. It was written by the group and is a dance-pop cut. For the accompanying music video, the group members wear face paint in different designs for each member. The EP was the first non-holiday release by the group to reach the top 10 on the album chart. It was also the group's last release before signing a recording contract with major label RCA. Watch Video 04 of 10 "Radioactive" with Lindsey Stirling RCA Pentatonix joined forces with violinist Lindsey Stirling for their interpretation of Imagine Dragons' hit "Radioactive." It was included on the album PTX Volume II. The track has earned a gold certification. Lindsey Stirling has collaborated with a wide range of other pop artists including John Legend, Celine Dion, and Jessie J. "Radioactive" was first released by Imagine Dragons as a single from their debut album Night Visions. It became the group's first top 10 pop hit and had the slowest climb to the top 5 in history. It holds the record for the longest single run on the Billboard Hot 100 at 87 weeks. The song is apocalyptic in tone. In addition to its pop chart success, "Radioactive" reached #1 at rock radio and even broke into the top 20 of the adult contemporary chart. "Radioactive" earned a Grammy Award nomination for Record of the Year. Watch Video 05 of 10 "That's Christmas To Me" RCA "That's Christmas To Me" is the title cut from the first full-length Pentatonix holiday album. Written by three members of the group, it was the only original song on the album. The rest of the tracks are carols both traditional and modern. The album That's Christmas To Me peaked at #2 on the album chart when first released in 2014. It was the top-selling holiday album of the year and became only the fourth million-selling collection of the entire year. It was also the highest charting holiday album by a group since 1962. That's Christmas To Me has now sold a total of more than two million copies. It was the second-holiday release by the group Their EP PTXmas hit the top 10 on the album chart in 2012. Watch Video 06 of 10 "Cheerleader" RCA Pentatonix covered the song "Cheerleader" on the deluxe version of their 2015 album Pentatonix. It was released as the first single from the project in August 2015. The recording was nominated for the Best Cover Song at the iHeart Radio Music Awards. The song "Cheerleader" reportedly had its origins in Jamaican singer OMI waking up humming the melody in 2008. In 2012, Patrick Moxey, president of the Ultra dance music label, discovered the song. He signed OMI to a recording contract in late 2013. Germany producer Felix Jaehn completed a remix of the song and that was released as a single in early 2014. "Cheerleader" became a global smash hit going to #1 in many countries around the world. In the US it hit #1 on the pop chart and broke into the top 10 on both the adult pop and Latin pop radio charts. "Cheerleader" was ultimately certified three times platinum in the US. Watch Video 07 of 10 "Mary, Did You Know?" RCA Pentatonix released "Mary, Did You Know?" as a single from their holiday album That's Christmas To Me. It reached #26 on the Billboard Hot 100, an unusual feat for a holiday single. It also climbed into the top 10 on the adult contemporary chart. The Pentatonix version utilizes richly layered vocal arrangements. "Mary Did You Know?" also topped the Billboard Holiday Songs chart and was one of seven songs from the album That's Christmas To Me to reach the chart. "Mary, Did You Know?" was written by Mark Lowry of the Gaither Vocal Band and Buddy Greene. It was first recorded by Christian artist Michael English and included on his debut solo album in 1991. Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd covered the song in 1997. They took it to #55 on the country chart. In 2005 Clay Aiken hit #35 on the adult contemporary chart with his version of "Mary, Did You Know?" Cee Lo Green made the song an R&B hit in 2012 climbing to #11 on that chart with his cover. Watch Video 08 of 10 "Hallelujah" RCA Pentatonix recorded a stunning version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" for their 2016 holiday album A Pentatonix Christmas. Their version reached #23 on the Billboard Hot 100 and also became a chart hit around the world. The album became a #1 hit on the US album chart. It was the second consecutive #1 hit album for the group. "Hallelujah" was first recorded by Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen in 1984. After Jeff Buckley released a celebrated cover version of the song in 1994, the song eventually became a contemporary classic. k.d. lang revived interest in the song when she sang it live at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. "Hallelujah" has been covered by countless artists in recent years. Watch Video 09 of 10 "Can't Sleep Love" RCA "Can't Sleep Love" was released as the lead single from the self-titled 2015 Pentatonix album. It was written by the group with a team of other writers that included drummer Kevin Figueiredo. A second version of the song featuring rapper and singer-songwriter Tink was released two weeks after the original. The album debuted at #1 on the US album chart becoming the first Pentatonix release to top that chart. The Pentatonix album was the group's first collection of songs to feature mostly original material. The only cover was the version of Shai's "If I Ever Fall In Love." The album was certified gold for sales and reached the album chart in many other countries. Watch Video 10 of 10 "Bohemian Rhapsody" RCA Pentatonix covered Queen's classic "Bohemian Rhapsody" on their 2017 EP PTX, Vol. IV - Classics. It reached #4 on the Billboard Bubbling Under the Top 100 chart. The EP reached #4 on the US album chart. "Bohemian Rhapsody" is one of the top rock classics of all time. When first released in 1975, it reached #1 on the UK pop singles chart and #9 in the US. After inclusion on the soundtrack for the 1992 hit movie Wayne's World, "Bohemian Rhapsody" returned to the US pop chart and climbed all the way to #2. Upon its initial release, the song received mixed critical reviews, but its reputation has only grown with time. "Bohemian Rhapsody" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2004. Watch Video
