The 10 best fitting pairs of jeans for tall women

There’s nothing quite like putting on your favorite pair of jeans. They hug your butt just right, flatter your hips and make your legs look like a million bucks. Tall women sometimes have a hard time finding the perfect pair of jeans because so many styles don’t extend past a 34-inch inseam. While this length might suit women up to 5’9” or so, taller women need jeans with longer inseam options.

Below, shop our 10 favorite denim brands and specific cuts that are tailor-made (but really off the rack) for tall women:

  1. Gap 'HIGH STRETCH' 1969 brushed back legging jeans, $70. Gap makes a variety of jeans that are perfectly sized for tall women. Their regular jeans can be ordered with a "long" inseam, but their online store also sells special "tall sizing" in dozens of cuts, ranging from skinny to flare, boot cut, cropped and straight leg. The best part? Their denim is all priced at $70, even special sizes.
  1. Topshop TALL embroidered mom jeans, $110. Just because you're particularly leggy (lucky you!) doesn't mean you shouldn't get to enjoy fun and trendy styles when it comes to their jeans. Topshop offers a variety of their fashion-forward jeans in tall sizes, including these fun, funky "mom" jeans with floral embroidery. (Shop more of Topshop's tall jeans, here.)
  2. M.i.H bodycon 'Marrakesh' kick flare jeans, $245. These flare jeans have a 35.5" inseam, which is perfect for tall women who want to rock a flare with a low heel, and for average height women who want their legs to look a million miles long. These jeans also have a semi-high rise, ensuring a flattering, retro-inspired fit.
  3. NYDJ 'Theresa' trouser jeans, $134. These stretch denim jeans from NYDJ have a trouser fit and a wide, flat hem that looks polished and sophisticated enough for work. With a 36" inseam these jeans are great for tall women and those who love to wear extra-high heels. Since the fabric of these jeans is so high-tech (and curve-hugging), NYDJ recommends ordering one size smaller than your usual.
  1. Paige Denim 'extra long' skinny jeans, $179 - $229. Paige Denim is one of our favorite premium denim brands, and they make a variety of their best-selling skinny jeans in an extra-long cut, with a 35.5" inseam, which should fit flatteringly on even the tallest of women. Plus, we love the look of a bit of ankle showing with skinny jeans.
  1. American Eagle X-Long jeans, $45 - $60. For the junior set, American Eagle offers their skinny, flair and boyfriend style jeans in an x-long cut, which have a 33" inseam. It's not the longest style in our offerings, but for young women and girls who are still growing (or who can handle a slightly cropped fit if they're really tall) these jeans make a great, affordable option.
  2. Old Navy mid-rise 'Rockstar' jeans, $27. Just like their sister company, Gap, Old Navy makes most of their denim in both 'regular long' inseam and 'tall' sizes. Our favorite jean by far is the mid-rise Rockstar (in black) because the fit is great and the price is even better. Do note that tall sizes are only available online.

  3. McGuire Denim 'Majorelle' flare jeans, $228. Extra tall women looking for that chic, dramatic flare jean that fits like a dream—look no further. These McGuire jeans have a 36" inseam and an 8.75" rise, making them a great not-too-high-waisted option. The raw hem gives these jeans a look that will only get better with each wear and wash.

  4. Levi's tall inseam jeans, $65 - $90. The original denim brand, that old American standby, Levi's, makes dozens of their timeless and trendier jeans with tall inseam sizing. From the classic 501 to the 700 low rise skinny jeans—you can choose between three or four inseam options with every pair, ensuring you get your perfect fit no matter what style you choose.

  1. 7 for All Mankind 'Kimmie' bootcut jeans, $179. 7 For All Mankind makes a variety of their premium denim styles with an inseam of 34 inches or longer, but the Kimmie bootcut is one of our favorites for everyday. This cut isn't especially trendy, but it is flattering and will look sophisticated and sleek on taller women, especially with pointed-toe pumps.
