Angelina Jolie: Bisexual Actress:

Angelina Jolie not only plays lesbian and bisexual roles, she is open about the fact that she is bisexual and has had relationships with both men and women. In a move rare for Hollywood, Jolie is open about her attractions and relationships with women. She was in a relationship with Jenny Shimizu, her co-star in Foxfire in 1996.

Angelina Jolie's lesbian and bad girl roles:

Angelina Jolie played a lesbian in the movie Gia in 1998. She's also known for her 'bad girl' roles in movies such as Foxfire (1996), Girl, Interrupted (1999), Tomb Raider (2001) and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003).

Angelina Jolie's background:

Angelina Jolie was born on June 4, 1975 to Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight and model/actress Marcheline Bertrand. She has an older brother James. Her parents divorced in 1976 and Angelina was raised by her mom in New York State.

Angelina has been married to Jonny Lee Miller (1996-1999),  Billy Bob Thorton (2000-2002) and Brad Pitt (2014). She and Brad Pitt have six children.  Maddox, who was adopted from Cambodia, and a daughter, Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia, son Pax,  Shiloh and twins Vivienne and Knox. 

Shiloh may be questioning gender identity and parents Brad and Angelina are just fine with that. Shilo, born female, prefers to dress in suits and short hair and has asked to be called "John," according to The Advocate.  Whether Shiloh will choose to identify as male, female or other is not determined yet, but having parents who support their child's identify is essential and Angelina and Brad do just that, allowing Shiloh to dress in what they feel comfortable in. 

Angelina Jolie: Bisexual Role Model?:

With so few lesbians or bisexuals out in Hollywood or in the public eye, Angelina Jolie has been embraced by the lesbian and bisexual community. She speaks openly and honestly about her feelings for women. Despite the fears that would keep some celebrities in the closet, Angelina Jolie continues to win big awards and big movie roles.

  • Janet Jackson called Angelina Jolie the sexiest woman alive. "I don't know if it's her attitude or her ass, but for me that's the most beautiful part of the body."
  • Angel star Charisma Carpenter admitted, "If I was forced to go with a woman, it would have to be Madonna or Angelina Jolie.
  • Christina Aguilera said, "She's tough, yet sexy at the same time, which not a lot of people can do."

Angelina's Awards and Recognition:

  • In 2000 Angelina Jolie won an Academy Award (Oscar) for Best Supporting Actress in Girl, Interrupted.
  • She has won Golden Globes for Girl, Interrupted, Gia and George Wallace.

Angelina's Recognition for her work with Children:

Angelina has also been acknowledged for her work with children and with refugees in countries like Pakistan, Tanzania and Sierra Leone. She is said to donate one third of her salary to charity.

Because of her support, Jolie was chosen as the United Nation's High Commissioner for Refugees Emissary (2001) and received an U.N. Correspondents Association's First Citizen of the World Award (2003).
