If you are familiar with my Website, you know how obsessed I am with coconut oil. I smooth it on my face every day in the winter and wipe off the excess with a damp washcloth before applying my  SPF tinted moisturizer. It acts as the absolute perfect foundation primer and keeps my super dry skin hydrated while the washcloth acts as the perfect exfoliator.

So imagine my joy when I tried this recipe out and fell in love immediately with it.

The cocoa butter combined with the coconut oil and  olive oil are extremely hydrating and I love the way it feels on my legs. I add a few drops of lavender oil to mask the olive oil smell. Put in a Ball Jar with a screw lid and you've got the most adorable container. These would make great gifts because they last a long time.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup extra virgin coconut oil
  • 3/4 cup cocoa butter
  • 2 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • A few drops of essential oil (rose, lavender, eucalyptus) if you have it

PREPARATION

Place all the ingredients in a small pan and microwave it just a few seconds until the cocoa butter and coconut oil is fully melted.

Pour the ingredients in a small round bowl with a screw top or pop top. Shake vigorously a few times as the mixture cools.

When the mixture comes to room temperature it will be the consistency of the coconut oil before it melted. Scoop out a dollop with your finger and apply to face and/or body.

If you get too much on your body, you can wipe off excess with a towel or washcloth.
