Combat Documentation/Production Specialist – MOS-25V

Combat Documentation and Production Specialists are primarily responsible for supervising, planning, and operating electronic and film-based still, video, and audio acquisition equipment in order to document combat and non-combat operations.

MOS 24V Duties

Duties performed by the soldiers in this MOS include the operation and use of motion, still, and studio television cameras on a unit level. They will work with electronic and film-based processing, editing, audio, and printing darkroom equipment. Some of the work includes preparing the captions for documentation images. The specialist will align and adjust video cameras and may prepare video reports for review by commanders and planning staff.

They perform preventive maintenance checks and services (PCMS) on assigned vehicles and power generators, master control systems, and still video transmission systems.

As experts in the field, MOS 24V specialists will also supervise and provide technical guidance to subordinate documentation and production team members.

Training Information

Job training for a combat documentation/production specialist requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and in the field.

Some of the skills you’ll learn are:

  • Motion picture equipment operation
  • Audio recording and using sound equipment
  • Scripting and special effects techniques

ASVAB Score Required: 93 in aptitude area EL and 91 in aptitude area ST

Security Clearance: None

Other Requirements

The physical profile requirement carries a PULHES guideline of 111221. The soldier can expect to display moderately heavy strength requirements.

  • Normal color vision required
  • Depth perception: Normal binocular vision for fine close work as determined by the Armed Forces Vision Tester.
