Learn about our Editorial Process Updated on 04/15/19 Nearly 11 years after his most-recent previous major championship win, and after years of back problems, multiple surgeries and personal problems, Tiger Woods put on another Green Jacket at the 2019 Masters. Woods finished at 13-under-par 275, winning by one stroke over the trio of runners-up, Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele and Brooks Koepka. For Woods, it was his 81st career PGA Tour win, one shy of tying Sam Snead's all-time record. It was his fifth win in The Masters, but his first since the 2005 Masters. And it was Woods' 15th overall major championship victory, but his first since the 2008 U.S. Open. Woods opened the tournament with a 70 in the first round and a 68 in the second. It was third-round 67 that put him in position to challenge for the win, moving Woods to 11-under and two strokes behind the third-round leader, Francesco Molinari. Molinari maintained the lead over his front nine in the final round, but ran into trouble on the back nine. Balls in the water on the 12th and 15th holes led to double-bogeys on both for Molinari and opened the door for others. Woods was up to the task: He birdied Nos. 13, 15 and 16. When Woods reached the 18th tee, he held a two-stroke lead over three golfers who had already finished their rounds. Woods made bogey on the last, but was a champion again.
